The Devil is in the Details...

The idiom "the devil is in the detail" refers to a catch or mysterious element hidden in the details.

My original photo of a graffiti covered wall taken in Split, Croatia.  Many of these artists are so talented!

kinfolk - cover girl

I heard about Kinfolk Magazine and had to have it.  Volume Seven arrived today.  This is a great magazine - filled with inspiration.

I loved the cover photo and thought I'd see if I could produce a picture anywhere close - not really - but it was fun trying nonetheless!

(Adding a gaussian blur sure helps one appear to have flawless skin - less wrinkled anyway!  This is a trick I learned from my gal pal Doris Day...remember her?)

One Picture is Worth 1000 Words

I found this railroad crossing sign on a walk through a neighborhood in Deland, FL.  I have no idea where the railroad tracks might be!

portrait

A portrait is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant.  The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of a person...

Two original photos (a self-portrait and a vintage Desoto automobile) collaged together and topped with a delicious texture.  I love collecting photos of the vintage cars owned by Truly Nolan!

Graffiti/Abstract

What do you get when you distort a photo then add texture and remove color (from texture layer)?

Below is what happened to my original photo.  I'm always on the prowl for graffiti.  My original photo taken in Freiburg, Germany.

window dressing....

I love old windows and doors - don't you?!

My original photo taken in Nova Scotia.
Bevel and drop shadow added to text - dramatic, huh?

Art in Stitches...

The Naples Quilters Guild held its annual quilt show this weekend.  I was invited to exhibit my work in celebration of the guild's 30th year.  I was happy to meet up with friends I haven't seen in a while and the opportunity to meet visitors to Naples.

Vintage Lamp...

I would dearly love to own a vintage oil lamp like this - one never knows when a storm will shut off our lights!

My original photo taken in Sherbrooke Village, Nova Scotia.

"Blue Missive," "Lost and Found," and  "Antique Me" textures courtesy of Pixel Dust Photo Art - I used all 3 of these delightful textures!  Layer mask to each texture layer added to protect the glass reflection.
